Not everyone grows up with their dad around, but what's worse is not everyone gets to have a male role model, very few are as lucky as I have been in my life to have three. Not to mention the uncles who supported our family, and the other amazing men in my life who I have been exposed to.

May 2026 was one for the ages. In terms of depression, it wasn't the worst I've been in a long time, not even the worst month this year. As I've said in a previous journal piece, the start of 2026 saw me in the throws of suicidal ideation, struggling with work, lacrosse, and everything else. Ironically, May 2026 was (at time of writing) the least worst mental health month I've had this this year.

Why I think reading to boys, and expressions of love could be what the world needs right now. A ranticle. Depending on where in the world you live, but assuming you are in a western society, somewhere WASPish, and or anywhere else in which this shit is pervading the world, you may have noticed men being awful.
